As our second ancillary task, we are going to design the digipak for the release of the album which the song will feature on. From looking at out research on existing digipaks, we have realised that it is important that the advertisement and the digipak follow the same house style. This is because the record becomes a sort of 'brand' so everything related to the record must follow the same theme and style so that it can be recognised by the target market and audience.
We made sure that we used the same fonts that were used to create the magazine advertisement and also used the same colours; this is how we are creating the house style. We decided that the wanted the front cover to be quite plain and obviously have the image as the main focus of the front cover. We created a template which we think the digipak will look like and will then add the images in later.
We did the same for the back cover of the digipak but obviously this part of the digipak will have more text and a few more small logos and images such as the logo of the band's record company.
We have not yet designed a template for the rest of the digipak because we will not have any text on these parts of the album and will just be images.
